Kadapa bypoll: Jagan Mohan Reddy wins by 5,43,053 votes

YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was declared elected from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat on Friday. He won by a majority of 5,43,053 votes the high-profile constituency in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan defeated his nearest Congress rival DL Ravindra Reddy, official sources said.

In Pulivendula assembly constituency, Jagan's mother Vijayalakshmi won by 85,193 votes against her brother-in-law and Congress nominee YS Vivekananda Reddy as per the latest trends.

Counting of votes for the bypolls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh commenced here on Friday morning amid tight security.

Elaborate arrangements were made for the counting in the seats from where Jagan and his mother Vijayalakshmi, were seeking re-election after quitting Congress.
