Jagan'll Sweep, If Polls Are Held Now: Lagadapati

Like Octopus Paul which had accurately predicted all the results in the last year’s soccer world cup, Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal also has gained the nick name Andhra Octopus for conducting accurate pre-poll and post-poll surveys.
Lagadapati has come out with a latest survey on the impact of YSR Congress Party floated by former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on the Congress party prospects in the state.
In his survey report submitted to the Congress high command, Lagadapati has predicted that if the mid-term elections are held now, the YSR Congress Party would walk away with huge number of seats, damaging the Congress party to a great extent. He also predicted that the Jagan party would sweep the by-elections to both Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and Pulivendula assembly seat.
It may be mentioned that most of the surveys conducted by Lagadapati turned out to be more or less accurate. During the last by-elections to 12 assembly seats in the Telangana region, Lagadapati predicted that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi would win the by-elections in all the 11 assembly constituencies it contested with thumping majority and that the Telugu Desam Party would not get deposit in majority of the seats. True to his predictions, the TRS had won all the seats it contested with huge majority and the TDP lost deposits everywhere.
In 2009 general elections, too, Rajagopal predicted that the Congress would get more than 30 Lok Sabha seats and 155-160 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh. And the results proved him right: the Congress got 33 MP seats and 156 assembly seats!

Profile of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-Kadapa

Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy is the son of Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy, the late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh with huge mass appeal. Jagan Mohan Reddy was born in Pulivendula village on December 21st, 1972. He studied his M.B.A. and started his political career through campaigning for the Congress Party during 2004 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. He entered in active politics in 2009 through contesting and winning from Kadapa Parliamentary Constituency. Y.S. Jagan’s political career entered into new phase with the sudden death of his father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been in news for his efforts to grab the chiar of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after the demise of YSR. With strong objections from the Congress Party High Command to make him CM of AP and also for his Odarpu Yatra, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy started distancing himself from the Congress Party. He resigned to his MP seat along with his mother Y.S. Vijaya Lakshmi in November 2010 and announced to float his own political party very soon.
The Congress party high command and state leadership have been in nervous with continuous show of strength by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy through his Odarpu Yatra, Lakshya Deeksha at Vijayawada and Jala Deeksha in New Delhi in protest against the judgement of Krishna Water Tribunal.
It is most likely that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would come up with announcing his party name very soon. The two names that are making rounds for now are Rajanna Rajyam Party and YSR Party.
