Congress describes Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare as 'masks' of destabilising forces

Congress on Tuesday described yoga guru Baba Ramdev and social activist Anna Hazare as 'masks' of destabilising forces, who were part of a conspiracy of national subversion hatched jointly by forces of right reaction and left anarchism.

"Over the past 10 months, there have been systematic attempts to undermine the stability of the government,'' Congress spokesman Manish Tewari told newspersons on Tuesday evening. Forces of right reaction and forces of left anarchism have, as part of this campaign, come together in the conspiracy of subversion.

Alarmed by the vicious reaction to the police crackdown on Ramdev's supporters at the Ramlila grounds late on Saturday night, the meeting of senior Congress leaders chaired by Sonia Gandhi on Monday had decided to embark on a counter campaign to expose the role of the Sangh Parivar in destabilising the government. The party has, since then, gone on an overdrive highlighting Baba Ramdev-Anna Hazare-RSS links.
